Adam and Danielle “Dani” Schiller soon plan to celebrate their first anniversary as owners in the eatery business. Their business, Anchor 66, opened its doors to feed locals and Route 66 tourists to the excitement of nostalgic Creek County residents on April 29 of last year.

Throughout their first year, the Schillers noted they met people from nearly all 7 continents, expressing specific appreciation for the overwhelming support and “love from Bristow and nearby communities”. Feeback from customers such as “We have had fish all around the U.S., and this is the best we have had!” and “Best Burger in Oklahoma” provided special meaning for the couple in their new venture. Dani added, “Any feedback noting how much they love out atmosphere warms my heart.” They also said “Grandmother would be proud. We have sold over 3,000 Grandma Reatha Cheeseburgers since opening a year ago.” They cited The Sooner and The Cowboy as customer favorites but added that the corn ribs reign supreme.

When they first opened Anchor 66, they hoped to fulfill a lifelong dream of owning their own restaurants and serving great food. Adam’s nostalgia with the Anchor and timely opportunity mingled, and Anchor 66 became a reality. Although the Schillers state they have “learned a lot and keep learning every day, growing as a business and as individuals and exploring and navigating with our food and lives”, they shared that the experience has also ignited desires for growth. In the future, they hope to establish several eateries along Route 66. Future hopes and plans for Anchor 66 also include adding beer to the menu and a completed “patio with lighting, shade, and conditioned air.” The Schillers continue to source local foods and ingredients, including purchasing “buns from Tulsa, ground beef from Creekstone Farms in Arkansas City, Kansas, mushrooms from Miami, all sauces and spices from Stillwater, flour from Shawnee, milk products from Highland Dairy in Chandler, hot links from Stillwell, mustard from Muskogee, and footlong hot dogs from Oklahoma City. A large portion of our beer selection will be locally made Oklahoma beers as well.”

In a nod of appreciation, they shared the following message for the community: “As we celebrate our first anniversary, we want to thank all of our loyal guests. Your support has been the key to our success and growth. We are excited for all of the new adventures, new faces, & new food the next year brings here at Anchor 66.” The couple noted that since the day of their first “anniversary falls on a Monday, our day closed, we will be going out to celebrate as a family.”

Anchor 66 is currently open Tuesdays through Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Fridays through Sundays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. It is closed on Mondays. Following its anniversary, summer hours will be in effect, meaning the business will be open for an additional hour each evening.
