On Monday, February 5, at approximately 10:23 a.m. the Bristow Police Department (BPD) received a call from the high school stating that a student had stated several times that he/she had a bomb in their bag. The BPD responded quickly, arriving on scene at around 10:26 a.m. After investigating and no bomb being found, the BPD made an arrest at 11:38 a.m. and the alledged suspect was taken into custody.
In the Feb. 8 issue of the Bristow News, it was reported on Feb. 5th also, a threat to Depew Public School was circulating via social media that a student was going to shoot up the school. On Tuesday, Feb. 6, the school received another threat via telephone. The school was immediately closed and classes cancelled. With back to back threats, the OSBI was called in. After investigation into the alledged threats, an arrest was made.
