Abatement on area properties was a big topic on the city council agenda this week. Consideration, discussion and possible action was done on seven properties in the Bristow area. 909 S. Oak was on the agenda twice. Once for grass, weeds, trash and debris and the second for dilapidated buildings This property is owned by Jolen and Stacie Boyd. 100 S. Washington was also listed for abatement for weeds, trash and debris and again for dilapidated buildings. This property is own by Christopher Geringer. Property owned by Margie Parson, commonly known as 914 S. Walnut, was also discussed for abatement for both trash, weeds, debris and dilapidated building. Diane Schumacher’s property located ate 204 E. Jackson was also listed for abatement, along with property located at 915 S. Poplar, owned by Helen Marie Terry. Property located at 710 E. 5th and 708 E. 5th, owned by Dickie Bishop, is also up for abatement.
The council discussed possible action to declare a Glock 34 pistol and one Badge surplus to be provided to retired Police Sergeant Billy Leatherwood.
Discussion was made on awarding a bid from Noble Systems to manage the city's information technology with termination of services from Beasley Technology.
On the hospital authority side of the meeting, the board discussed approval of claims from ONG. Dewberry Architects, and Associated Parts and Supply, for the hospital and doctor's building.
On the municipal side of the meeting, discussion was made on areas pertaining to the Waste Water Treatment, adopting a resolution to file an application with the Oklahoma Water Resource Board for financial assistance through the clean water state revolving system loan program, with the loan proceeds being for the purpose of waste water system improvements.
