In Loving Memory of Trudy Bigpond Frank It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother, who peacefully left this world on April 18th, 2024. She was born on August 5, 1934, in Bristow, Oklahoma, to Anderson Bigpond and Martha Tiger Bigpond.

Trudy was a lifelong member of Choska United Methodist Church in Bristow.

Trudy Bigpond Frank was a woman of strength, compassion, and unwavering dedication. She touched the lives of many throughout her lifetime, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished forever. Her journey began at the Chilocco Indian School, where she received her education and built a strong foundation for her future endeavors.

In 1956, Trudy graduated from St. John’s School of Nursing in Tulsa, and became a registered nurse on Sept. 7, 1956, thus, embarking on a lifelong career that would shape her identity as a caring and dedicated nurse. She worked tirelessly for the Indian Health Service (IHS) at the Claremore Indian Hospital for multiple decades, serving her community with unwavering commitment and compassion. Trudy was a beacon of hope and healing, always putting the needs of others before her own.

Outside of her professional life, Trudy experienced the joys and challenges of love and family.

She married Tim Wood and together they had three beautiful daughters: Martha Tilley, Tina Wood, and Alison Griffin. Although her marriage with Tim ended in divorce, She found love again and married Edward P. Frank in 1975. Together, they built a strong and loving family while they lived in Glenpool, OK and enjoyed many travels.

Trudy was preceded in death by her beloved siblings: Elwood Bigpond, Tiny Bigpond, and Marguel Adkins, her daughter, Tina Wood and her grandsons: Richard Tilley Jr (Sonny Boy) and Julian Rose. While we mourn the loss of our dear matriarch, we find solace in the knowledge that she is now reunited with her loved ones who have gone before her.

Her memory will forever be cherished by her surviving family members: Daughters, Martha Tilley and Alison Griffin. Siblings Marion Kanitobe, Audrey Buckley, and John Thomas Bigpond Sr. Trudy was a loving grandmother to nine grandchildren and a proud great-grandmother to sixteen great-grandchildren. Her love and guidance will forever be imprinted on their hearts.

Trudy will be remembered for her selflessness, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her profession and family. She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion, and undoubtedly left a profound impact on those fortunate enough to have known her.

We invite you to join us in celebrating the remarkable life of Trudy Bigpond Frank during the funeral service, which will be held Friday, April 26, 2024, at the Hutchins Maples Matherly Chapel with interment to follow at the Bigpond Family Cemetery.

May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory live on in our hearts forever.
